PROGRAM :
Our day excursion to Essaouira, the charming coastal town, commences with a 9 am pick-up from the closest car access to your riad. During our approximately 3-hour drive to Essaouira, immerse yourself in the world of the Argan tree, a unique plant native to the southern regions of Morocco. We’ll make a stop at a women’s Argan cooperative, allowing you to witness the captivating process of producing Argan oil and its derivatives.
Upon arrival in Essaouira, our first destination is the historical harbors, where fishing boats seamlessly blend with local artisans. The city’s port offers picturesque views and vibrant energy. We’ll buy fresh fish and grill it by the water as the locals do. If you prefer an alternative to fish, we can opt for lunch at one of the nearby restaurants offering diverse options from Moroccan to international cuisine.
Next, we’ll delve into the heart of the medina, surrounded by captivating blue and white buildings. Explore local shops, art galleries, and experience the unique handicrafts in the local souks. A visit to the historical kasbah’s Sekala, known for its cameo in famous movies like Game of Thrones, follows. Enjoy a coffee on a nearby rooftop with an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean. Our journey concludes with a visit to the silver market (optional) or perhaps a small gallery summarizing the city’s history in one place, depending on time constraints. Finally, meet our driver for the return trip to Marrakech.
